Phillipines Typhoon Haiyan Charity Seminar
Thank you to all SDTKD Members, Family & Friends who took time out of their Christmas break to attend our club fundraiser at Tallaght Leisure Centre on December 28th in aid of the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Appeal for much needed aid.
We to date gave raised a total of €514 that will be donated to the Unicef Ireland Typhoon Appeal. We also have a collection bucket currently at Tallaght Leisure Centre reception if anyone wishes to get involved.
We had a great training session composed of many aspects of taekwondo with footwork, technical kicking, sparring techniques, breaking, demonstration and games all to help work off some of the Christmas mince pies! We were also delighted to have an array of delicious food prepared by the families from the Philippines for the attendees of the seminar. At the interval we were entertained by singing, dancing and an excellent taekwondo demonstration from our Filipino Club members.

We would like to Thank Tallaght Leisure Centre for Kindly opening up the hall to the event on the day which will be of great assistance in the homeland of many of our club members.
SDTKD Club currently has a large Filipino membership, with many excelling to top flight competitive level, winning major honours at regional & national events, some up & coming exciting beginners and we had our 1st Black Belt recipient recently Ms. Jamilah Depakakibo.
