Grandmaster Ky-Tu Dang Seminars

On September 26th & September 27th international taekwondo visitors were delighted to experience one of the world’s most formidable taekwondo experts deliver his amazing seminars, Grandmaster Ky-Tu Dang, 8th Dan Black belt and renound world leader in all things Taekwondo. GM Dang has been World Poomsae Champion, Multiple European Poomsae Champion, unbeaten Open Champion and a respected coach of both poomsae [foms] and kyorugi [sparring] throughout the world. GM Dang who represents Denmark, was originally from Vietnam, but left his home country as a refugee of the Vietnam War.

This, his 4th visit to the Emerald Isle was one of his most successful and most informative where he conducted a 2 day seminar open to all taekwondo enthusiasts from Ireland & abroad. A host of local students and visitors from Europe attended the seminar which was broken into 2 classes. The event was held in Tallaght leisure Centre, hosted by South Dublin Taekwondo Club.

The Friday night class contained a multi-discipline class open to all ages & grades where basic techniques and kicking drills were practiced with GM Dang’s usual great enthusiasm and positive atmosphere. Some of the local youngsters got a great taste of things to come in future years when they were given great attendion by the visiting Champion and World Taekwondo Federation(WTF) Advisor. Saturdays seminar was very much focused on high level technical detail of ‘Poomsae’ or patterns where all attendees were educated in detail on the importance of ‘accuracy and presentation’ in the modern stand alone WTF sporting event. The host club were delighted with the international response to the event, ‘The event would not have been viable without great support from our international friends who came to this series of seminars. Thanks so much for their contribution and for the presence of senior Irish Masters who came along’. Grandmaster Ky-Tu was guest in the Capital where he also conducted a black belt grading at SDTKD Club and was special guest at the All Ireland International Taekwondo Championships.
